Annalisa Murgia

Associate professor of Sociology
Annalisa Murgia is Professor of Sociology at the State University of Milan, where she is also scientific coordinator of the GENDERS research center. She is Principal Investigator of the ERC project SHARE – Seizing the Hybrid Areas of work by Re-presenting Self-Employment transferred. She was Scientific Coordinator of the EU FP7 project GARCIA – Gendering the Academy and Research: combating Career Instability and Asymmetries at the University of Trento. She is part of AcademiaNet, a database of profiles of outstanding female researchers in all disciplines. She is a board member of the journals ‘Organization’ and ‘Work, Employment and Society’. Her research interests focus on qualitative methods, with a particular interest in processes of precarization, gender inequalities and transformations of collective action as well as subjectivity in response to processes of individualization.
