AI - RIGHTS, COMPLIANCE AND CHALLENGES

HH4AI, AN INNOVATIVE PROJECT ABOUT FUTURE AND RIGHTS

HH4AI is a one-of-a-kind project allowing to create models for assessing the compliance of AI systems in relation to respect for human rights.
Our methodology is designed to consider the specifics of each company and effectively ensure the respect of each individual’s rights.
For us, the “human” control over AI systems – also known as human oversight – is a core principle.
A “new” right that must be protected with research efforts and new forms of collaboration between disciplines.

TEAM

Our team is a composition of legal, linguistic and IT profiles, alongside different associations and partners.
Directed and coordinated by Pro-Director for Legality Transparency and Equal Rights Marilisa D’Amico, it sees the participation of faculty, researchers and doctoral students from different areas, including Ernesto Damiani’s team, an excellence in the field of LLM design. This multidisciplinary approach guarantees the possibility of building a future in which artificial intelligence represents not only an advanced technology, but also a tool to ensure and promote rights.

WHAT WE DO

HH4AI offers services that are constantly evolving. We support companies on a path that will comply with European and national legislations, respecting the principles of international law, with the understanding that protecting rights is a necessary condition to take full advantage of the potential of artificial intelligence.

OUR SERVICES

FOCUS POINT

WHY WE MEASURE
IMPACT

Measuring the impact of artificial intelligence solutions involves the use of qualitative and quantitative indicators. We need to take into account a multi-disciplinary approach, allowing the impact to be defined also from an anthropological, psychological and sociological point of view. Mapping needs and defining impact goals with all the stakeholders involved in the network is primary in defining ethical and accountability.

THE AI ACT 2024
LEGISLATION

The first artificial intelligence law regulates the development, provision and use of AI throughout Europe. The AI Act aims to promote reliable and safe AI, foster responsible innovation, and protect human rights. The Regulation on artificial intelligence has a direct impact on companies operating within the EU, whether they are suppliers, users, importers, distributors or manufacturers.

MODEL CARDS:

an essential tool for everyone

Many users interact with AI systems without fully understanding how they function. Our team has created model cards that include sections on data from training, data reprocessing, hardware and software implementation, results evaluation and benchmarking, ethical and safety considerations, and limitations of use, risk assessment and benefits of the AI system in use.
